There is a difference between what is said on TV and what might be said in private - this is true for both politicians and companies. On TV, the message about a future event will never be a negative one. His role is not to be accurate on TV but rather to ensure that Pelosi does not hold a vote until the votes really exist.

I'm not sure why anybody should have faith in what any politician says about this process - I mean dates for things to happen seem to come and go and bold statements about what will happen or what will never happen also seem to come and go.

I stick to my prediction that the "big bill" fails and a smaller bill ultimately passes. Many will be simultaneously disappointed while also declaring success. That's the way it seems to work in politics.
