Actually his MBP is 7lb and that was his critical spec that it had to be a 7 pounder or less.

His other primary spec was screen size....he wanted a 17" screen.

For whatever reason, other computer manufacturers look at >17" laptops as desktop replacements so weight goes way down on their list of objectives. Most 17" laptops are behemoths.

That would personally be fine, but WLD has different criteria.
