I am so sorry Mike! He was obviously a very special guy who made the most of his time on this earth. It's wonderful that you have so many excellent photos of him doing what he enjoyed most and how amazing that he was SO talented in so many different areas! And that was quite a shot of him in on the billboard advertising "drink more milk"! You can treasure the time you did have together forever.
There were so many great shots not just of your son but you and your wife and other family also...it's a marvelous photo gallery. You all look so trim and have stayed active with all the outdoor activities...I wish I could say the same for us but it's so hot in Phoenix from May to October, you don't want to be outside much. I have just recently taken up fast walks early in the mornings as I've been trying hard to diet after ballooning over 170 (I'm only 5'6") and I weigh every morning and hit a new low of 158 today with a goal of 140 in mind. My wife is about the same height and weighs a few pounds more than me so she is trying to lose too.
I used to live in Ft. Collins, Colorado from '74-'80 and was very active back then with lots of slow pitch softball and volleyball. My knees made me give both up over a year ago though. I was never that good in sports and didn't do well in high school sports either, but just enjoyed playing and the friends that developed in the process.
I mostly for rural electric cooperatives for the most part but usually at lower level positions. Trading stocks has actually been a huge boost to our eventual retirement plans, though my wife is still working in medical records for Banner Health, a large company here in Phoenix and also with hospitals in several states. Have you lived mostly in the west? I grew up in the midwest, mostly Minnesota. I got married for the 2nd time in Oklahoma in '84 and we moved here in '97 where I began trading as a full time thing. I don't trade much anymore and was away from it for close to a year after a horrible '08.
I didn't mean to go on so much here but thanks again for all your wonderful photos and the conversation and I wish you an excellent weekend! Darryl
