If you think of health care as a utility the monopoly situation works. The many problems of health care/insurance are due to the need for the many entities in it to make a profit. We've deemed basic services such as power and water to warrant high regulation, universal access for modest fees, and regulated profits. There is no reason this couldn't work for health care is there?
