Running Final Cut on a hackintosh would not be wise.

Depends on the hackintosh. Got a friend whose hackintosh ROCKS with FCP. Not a laptop, though! A HUGE monster of a console computer that I would hate to move, one inch! (g)

My pal has enough trouble on a Mac.

So do all of mine, whose Macs/hacks are underpowered for FCP. Gotta have RAM out the wazoo, and processing speed of a Cheetah chasing down prey, on a Mac or a hack! Otherwise, FCP chokes and dies. Repeatedly. (g)

Learned that lesson the hard way, until we upgraded my gal's MacPro and her 17" MBP to the absolute limit.
