Gallup polls consistently demonstrated that cutting debt and deficits was the most popular item in the Liberal platform. Largely, it was responsible for consistent re-election. Parents voted to take the pain, so their children wouldn't have to. A prediction: Euro political parties that choose the same course - where the public is certain that deficits and debt will be trimmed honestly - will return those parties to power again and again. They'll vote for their children's best interests, just as Canadians did. Jim
