Great article, Ted. Pretty much captures everything I've felt being there, except for the overplayed "doom and gloom" that the media seems to be playing up.

Rochette clearly skated an inspirational performance, but I think Nagase was better.

By the way, I just watched short track speed skating last night. Canada did awesome. Korea fell short. Apolo Ohnoyoudidn't got his token bronze. The whole sport is controlled chaos, though, especially the relay, but it is exciting to watch. Like roller derby on ice.

P.S. - I got a wonderful picture of Ohno shaking hands with one of the Korean skaters. With all of the enmity between him and Korea, it's cool to see that.
