India Spectrum Auction on deck...

Of interest to Globalstar shareholders.

India originally was going to auction spectrum for Fixed Broadband Wireless Services (WiMax) nationwide in the 2.5Ghz spectrum. The frequencies at auction were to be 2.535Ghz to 2.555 Ghz. (20Mhz) unpaired.

Globalstar's S Band Spectrum goes from 2.4835Mhz to 2.500Ghz.

However, in the final Invitation. The 2.535-2.555Ghz spectrum was excluded from the auction. The reason given was.....

Spectrum in the 2.5GHz band will be auctioned after the outstanding issues
of interference with the Mobile Satellite System of Department of Space are
resolved.

Even at the end of the auction of the 2.3Ghz spectrum. We should have a decent idea what the intrinsic value of Globalstar's 2.483-2.5Ghz spectrum is on a nationwide basis in India.
