10cents/ bit Ha. I once had a 'puter fully loaded with 32K words (12 bit word) of core. Luxury. Turn computer off - come back later turn computer on and memory still had same program - no loading paper tape needed! Talk about your instant on computers. I always imagined that they hired a squadron of little old ladies wearing those glasses that look like magnifying lenses furiously putting these things together with knitting needles... nzeldes.com
