Techy, et al., Sen. Bennett of Utah announced today his intention to introduce legislation that would require all publicly traded companies to fully disclose information regarding their efforts on Y2K compliance. Info required, among other things: disclosure of specific progress by division, department, or other appropriate business unit; disclosure of likely litigation costs and liability outlays associated with the defense of lawsuits against the corp. or its directors and officers; a detailed discussion of existing insurance coverage to cover specific Y2K computer failures; and disclosure of contingency plans for computer systems failure, by division, department, etc.
