Sounds too scrumptious. You are an amazingly creative cook. Last night I did a variation on a theme I have been practicing for awhile. "Whatever is in the Frig, Chili". I defrosted 2 lbs of ground pork that I bought on sale a few days ago, on sale, at a local market, and added a lb. of ground buffalo meat that I got a Whole Foods the day before. I added, cumin, chili powder, a whole bottle of Pinot Noir, a jar of low salt pasta sauce that I also got a Whole Foods, a chopped up onion, several cut-up garlic buds, and the Coup de Grace: a couple dozen whole Brussels Sprouts that I had been saving in the frig for some kind of inspiration. I have put the Sprouts in my chili creations before and I love the taste in my various renditions. I had some last night for pre-dinner (I knew that I would be eating some later in the evening as I performed, along with some amazing musicians at my professional groups annual Soiree--a real surprise was the appearance of a member of the Dallas Opera who sang a Wagner Walkyre piece--I thought the ceiling might cave in from the power of his voice. He will be opening at the Dallas Opera House tonight in Cosi fan Tutti. Also, a very talented, Chinese Tai Chi friend of mine, who teaches piano and a local Community College, played a transcription of a Chinese piece into Western Classical style. It was a tone poem of sorts, celebrating a famous Chinese Lake in the moonlight. It just flowed like water from her fingers. We were all transfixed by her playing. The husband and wife couple that Rambi and her husband saw play and sing over a year ago at a local coffee house, and who have been the core of these annual events were not able to attend because of the wife's illness. I just thought that next year I will invite Rambi to perform with us. If she agrees to play, you will have to come to town that weekend so you can be part of our next Soiree. My friends thought that I played very well and I must admit that it was my best playing that I have done since I took up playing again) I ate some more of my chili for supper tonight and then had that chocolate pudding that I posted about. I'm feelin might fine right now. |
