I find it much more disturbing to watch a profit turn into a loss than to miss out on even more profit or even just watching one drop immediately after I buy. I don't mind holding my stock through volatile periods but like to trade my options for profit when I can. As my account has grown, I've tried to let some of my position ride, but overall, I've found I would have been better off had I cashed out and had funds available for the next dip. These are the types of problems we should all be so lucky to have all the time! (I'd never deign to give you trading advice, Truflette, just my current strategy.
