Last week, I was the subject of some of that "defensive medicine" you have heard so much about. After a week of flu like symptoms, I made an appointment with my primary care doctor. I got right in on 3 hours notice. They spent one and half hours with me, did an EKG and blood draw and concluded I had a virus. It was all paid for by Medicare. Was this some of the much criticized "defensive medicine"? Wouldn't it have been done anyway?
