- The competition in just about every sport was intense.

I agree with all your points but this one stands out.....the competition WAS intense. Even the 50K cross country event yesterday was competitive right to the last second.

- Even moments of tragedy are defined by the way they're dealt with. I thought the way the Olympics dealt with the Georgian luger's death was very heartwarming. But more importantly, the way Joannie Rochette dealt with her mother's sudden death was incredible.

Definitely a powerful story.

- The weather wasn't that bad, at least while I was there. Personally, I think changing weather conditions are all part of the challenge. I don't always get to ski or snowboard on fresh powder, and neither do the pros.

I disagree.....El Niños are not that rare. Vancouver should have anticipated the worst and put outdoor sports at higher altitude venues....assuming they exist. One good thing.....I doubt Seattle will ever again consider hosting the Olympic games.....at least the winter ones. It actually would be perfect for the summer games...temp wise.....but don't tell anyone.

So many other good things about these Olympics that far overshadow the bad, but I will get one of the bad things off my chest:

- NBC's coverage of the Olympics sucked big time. Come on, tape-delaying events that took place in the Pacific time zone? But what's worse was that last night, NBC squeezed that stupid show, "The Marriage Ref" right in the middle of the closing ceremonies. Why can't NBC just do it like CTV in Canada, where the Olympics were covered 24/7?

I don't know what's wrong with NBC. Even Brian Williams seemed off.....like he didn't want to be there.
