Specialty store sales were way, way UP!

Walter, when I said comp superstore sales had to rise 1%, I was giving a quarter by quarter increase, so the 4.9% comp superstore sales increase is only slightly better than needed to get 0.18.

BUT, the press release said that Specialty store sales were $19,040,000 vs $16,386,000 from last quarters report. When you adjust for the fact that Imperial Sports stores (57) were only operated for 11 weeks in the 2nd quarter and for an increase in 3 mall stores during the 3rd quarter, you get the following comparison:
Sales per store per week in 2Q: $ 9,830
Sales per store per week in 3Q: $ 10,566
Increase: 7.5%

Maybe the thing we fear the most (mall stores) is the thing that improved the most.

I, like you, hope there are no surprises on the expense side.
