I received a PM from a friend who no longer posts here who
says that hospitals have been getting away with charges that
are way out of line for years and that they have rather a carte blanch to do so.

Fortunately I have not been in too many hospitals but
this past summer I was in twice. I was advised by friends when I left to take every thing in the room that was not attached as one got charged for everything. Pitchers, moisturizer,
anti bacterial solutions, toothpaste and brush..PLUS MORE,

I did this as these persons had been in the hospital and knew
that those charges were going to be there and that
they were ridiculous....

I don't PRETEND to have the answers to everything much less little things but when I inquired of one hospital about their
exorbitant charges the reason given was to cover those persons who were uninsured... Made sense.
