'Fees' are not the issue.

And I did not present them as such. What they are is one of the reasons why hedge fund investors would tend to have lower rates of return than banks doing their own proprietary trading.

SYSTEMIC risk of contagion and financial collapse

Systemic risk wasn't the issue either. The particular point being addressed was the expected net return of proprietary trading vs. roulette, poker, and hedge fund investing. Sure its in the context of concerns about systematic risk, but please address, or concede the points raised, or say your changing the topic. Don't pretend your addressing what was being discussed when your not.

Not every point is directly about the entire context or situation, if every point had to be you couldn't have a real discussion about the situation, you couldn't back up or argue any point without bringing up some specific part, example, argument, analogy etc, or some other thing rather than the entire big picture. When such arguments or analogies etc. are raised its reasonable to answer them. You raised the analogy, I showed how its faulty. Saying "that's not the issue", when you raised the point is unreasonable.
