I am concerned as to whether we are having a monetary expansion or contraction... as it is one of the fundamentals re the POG.

There are of course other contributors:

1. Faith in currencies in general or one in particular.
2. Same re governments (extrapolation of current or expected policies)
3. Possible defaults or debasements.
4. How much has already been printed, and the delayed effects thereof.
5. Political or social unrest or the potential for same.

I'm sure there are more... but the amount of current monetary expansion/contraction is certainly one of them, and it would be nice to get a real handle on it.
