That's the route I am thinking of taking and appreciate knowing of your experience. So, you have had the site 15 years and still under construction. I would do the same as I really don't want an active website.

Have been looking at Godaddy.com to establish the domain as it looks solid and relatively simple. The CEO lives in my area and has an excellent public reputation and is very philanthropic. My preferred domain name is already taken, but there are other similar names to which I can improvise. The costs seem more than reasonable unless I am missing something.
