hubris33,

I'll take both. I hold bullion always and never trade it (which has saved me from myself many times <g>). The miners are traded with impunity.

Sold my miner positions today, but I'll buy them back very soon. I expect an extremely shallow pullback and possible test of the 1125/1130 range.

The profits come fast on the short side, but I'm a self-professed, "chicken short". I short often, but usually a much smaller position than on the long side and I keep plenty of cash on-hand to survive a squeeze. My shorts fall into two broad groups. First is the simple trade. Just playing some short or intermediate trend. The second group is more difficult in a market that I believe is not fundamentally centered. This second group is about long-term shorts in sick puppies. It has been a while since I've done much of this as I believe there is a PPT that can cause a short lots of pain for a long time.
