Good to see Cisco beat earnings by a penny, and announce a 3 for 2 split. i hope it will lead networkers forward tomorrow. I saw Noam on the IBD ad on CNBC this morning for the 1st time. He does look like a techno-nerd, just the type of leader MRVC needs. It sure seems that MRV is trading at a discount to other networkers. At today's closing price, it is trading at only approximately 23 times 1998 earnings, with a growth rate of double that. Cisco, for example, is at 32 times 1998 projected per share earnings (I believe). It also seems like a slam dunk that the 4th quarter will be MRV's 31st consecutive quarter of sequentially increasing sales. I would really be high on the 4th quarter prospects, but for the statement made in the conference call that management was cautiously optimistic short term, and very optimistic long term. Anyone aware of a reason for the caution?
