I hope you don't think we can continue to go down the same road for the next forty years. We will all be broke. Even your employer.

That's not the point. The point is whether the reform will make us more or less likely to be broke. Just because something's bad doesn't mean than alternative X is better. Some alternatives are worse than the status quo. Out of the frying pan and into the fire is not progress.
