And millions of parents with kids in the schools care.

And people who believe in the concept of ACCOUNTABILITY, and that teacher's and administrators pay and continued employment should be based, (in significant part), upon achievement of objective PERFORMANCE STANDARDS care....

(PS, Peter... did you *notice* that D.C. was one of the finalists in this first round for funding under the Race to the Top program? Merit pay for teachers and admin., parents rights to transfer their kids out of failing/failed schools, administrators rights to *close* bad schools, objective testing for students, etc., are all components of the Race to the Top program. D.C. stands to win far MORE FUNDING for their schools under this program then the small amounts you were complaining about a few weeks ago....)
