Reconciliation is a head fake, Peter. Now Obama is calling for a vote by March 18th. That is too soon even for the CBO to score any reconciliation package. Besides, reconciliation would be long and gory in the Senate, with many procedural objections. All Obama wants is a health care bill, any bill. The Senate bill will do fine for Obama. Why on earth would he or the Senate waste time and effort on a reconciliation packages, for changes the Senate doesn't even want? So it ain't gonna happen. If the House Democrats fall for this, they WILL be double-crossed.
