I'm curious, do you charge your Tesla solely on solar generated power?

Grid and solar.. After next year.. totally off of solar. I'll be selling excess energy to my utility. ( I gotta help my neighbors, after all it's pollution free!)

Also I wonder how far you can drive on a charge and how long it takes to recharge?

About 250 miles on a full charge. As I said earlier it takes about 200 watthrs to go a mile. With a 7 KW array (over a day about 35 kwhrs). The math is pretty easy. I don't burn it all up since I don't drive every day. The battery in the car holds about 54 Kwhrs total fully charged.

So say you drove about 50 miles per day X 200 Watthrs per mile that works out to roughly 10 Kilowatt hrs. A drop in the bucket. Less than an hour and a half in sunshine.
