Jesus birth year is known within two or three years but Charlemagne was withen about ten years? BTW the bible tells us indirectly that Jesus was born in the Spring. The Catholic Church does not pretend otherwise. In fact one of the reasons Christmas is held in December is because they wanted a few months not weeks between December and Easter.
