Re: [Yeah... GOOD LUCK with finding long-lasting and effective action *that way*!] "Its not that its the easy way, or that its necessarily a likely way, its that its the only way."

No.

It is the 'never will happen in a zillion years way'.

And the 'even if it ever miraculously did happen it would just be over-turned by the very NEXT big-spending bunch of politicians to come along' way.

It is putting you faith into the idea that some new bunch of 'fearless noble leaders' will happen along and miraculously save us all... instead of putting your faith into structurally changing the laws to FORCE the politicians into compliance.

And, I suppose that we can probably quit bantering back and forth on this particular aspect of the deficit reduction ideal that we *both* profess to desire, considering that you will NEVER, EVER in a million years convince me to put all my hopes and faith into some new bunch of fearless politicians happening along and saving us all deus ex-machina like.

I have lived too long and seen far to much to ever fall for that line....

And, (as I just pointed out above), even if MIRACLES DID HAPPEN in this regard... there would be ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IN PLACE that would PREVENT the very next bunch from OVER-TURNING it all and deficit spending again.

So, wasted breathe there.... <g>
