Ted, looks like I was half-wrong about Obama not starting any troop withdrawals.

Technically, I'm right since it was Bush that started the troop withdrawals, and Obama is only continuing them. But that's splitting hairs on my part, since I was under the mistaken impression that troop levels in Iraq were holding steady.

In any case, I agree with you that the schedules are holding steady. But it looks like the number of troops that will actually be withdrawn will be far less than the campaign rhetoric hinted at, since 35K to 50K troops will remain for "training and counterterrorism" purposes.
