So we listened to "Slaughterhouse-Five, or The Children's Crusade: A Duty-Dance with Death" by KV once again from a audio book on a recent road trip to North Idaho.. This should be required listening or reading by every high school student in the country or the world for that matter..And every recruit should be required to listen to it before s/he signed on the dotted line allowing the government(mic) to throw them into the meatgrinder.. K has/had it all figured out but he was just pissin in the wind or against the tide and he knew it as we talked before..

And speaking of Idaho, I doubt that the majority or even many there have listened to it too.. Right wing and so-called "Christian" radio talk dominate the air waves but I shouldn't generalize as there are nice little pockets of progressive thought.. I knew that so that's why we brought along all the audio books..

And as for the Sandpoint area, where we ended up at a resort to meet with family and friends for a few days is an enigma to many, but not really to me, it is where artsy-fartsy meets red-neck or where camo and ammo meets Birckenstocks(sp).. And they get along.. That's the point I am trying to make.. They get along up there.. I have always had one foot planted in one camp and the other in the other camp so I understand both.. I am lucky..

For example, we went to a gun show at the county fairgrounds as I am a collecter as my brother, to look and we did some reloading supplies.. Plus I am always on the lookout for some fairly rare 284 Winchester live stuff.. Never find it though but I digress.. There was some tough looking dudes and dudettes there, some with bayonets.. But everybody was cool with each other.. :)

And then we go downtown Sandpoint, it's so much craftsy and coffee and wine bars and then a beautiful woman playing guitar and singing love songs in one of those places....

I guess another point I am trying to make to "SI-type" people, (since that's where I am now writing) who NEVER seem to get out is that people can and do come together out there in the REAL WORLD.. But one would never know it if they only lived remotely and vicariously through the cyber world..

And I include MOVIES in this category too.. That's just another look through someone else's eyes or ears.. They are fun for entertainment but that's is far as it goes..

I don't KNOW if the cyber world is a boon or a bust to human kind in the long run.. It's a boon if it is mixed in with the real and a big BUST if it's not..

So I just wish SI people would get off their duffs and get out there for just a little while at least.. It might just open their eyes a bit, a little bit at least I hope..
