" believe they do. I also don't think the rates of such mistakes vary significantly between the US and Canada. So that issue (while an important one) isn't really relevant here."

I'm waiting for someone to prove that, but in the meantime how can you state that medical mistakes are irrelevant to a healthcare system and then try and boast about things like shorter wait times.....??

"There is evidence that more guns makes American's safer than they would otherwise be "

That is such bullshit.....how can a reasonable person make such a statement? Prove it.

"Obesity rates have almost nothing to do with the structure of the health insurance system."

Consider the manifestations of obesity and try answering that question again....If you are living in an obese society and obesity is the norm, your health is definitely affected..let's not be silly about this. And that will affect the insurance system...the ins. companies can answer that question from their actuarial tables..

"n the raw unadjusted score. Adjusted for accident rates (the data in the 2nd column) we are number one."

Incredible....you can't just throw out the worst numbers with some lame alibi.... You live within this system and hospital mistakes are part of the system...
