I live in a place much like Denmark. Alaska is the only state in the union in great shape financially, because a bunch of liberals (in the 70's) had the foresight to set up a large government program, the Permenant Fund, that now has 40 billion dollars.

Right wingers fought us tooth and nail, blood in the streets, hating big government programs and this one was huge.

But we won, and now the citizens can see clearly how smart it was. And we put it in the constitution requiring 3/4 vote by the legislature to touch the principle. That will never happen.

Without the 40 billion (we liberals forced the right wing to save-lol!)we would be toast right now. Like most of the states today. We earn several billion a year and use that for our states social programs. We often have extra money we also save.

Our social sytems are intact and we have lots of jobs and pay no state taxes at all. None. Zero. And we have the best schools.

Liberals did all of that, just like in Denmark.
