What you fail to point out about the new car taxation is that Denmark does that because it is the worlds leader in converting to a country with mostly electric cars. It is their way of converting from gas cars to electric cars.

koan, finally I have to say it in clear text: You are so full of SHIT!

That car taxation is not new.
As a matter of fact it's old and dating back to the early 1950s.
Background: Denmark had a serious currency problem after the war.
With no domestic car production every single car purchased demanded a drain on the hard currency reserves.
Thus car purchase were rationed and a 'permit' (indköbstilladelse) was required to buy a car. Something one only could get if the car was required to pursue one's business.
For other potentially buyers 'a temporary tax of 100%' (dollarpræmiering) was introduced on all car sales.

As is always the case with such 'temporary' taxes, the 100% and later more tax on car purchases become permanent 10 years later. And of course the loop hole of 'permit' was removed.

Satisfied now?
See what kind of jerk you are, trying to be that instant Denmark expert?
No clue you have, man.

As a matter of fact this whole BS now is causing big problems for Denmark in the EU. Imagine what would would happen if their citizens could buy used (or new) cars in the common EU market.

Had you done your home work, you'd known better.

Learn from this: So called 'temporary' taxes introduced by liberals eventually always become permanent.

Another example of that on the way: Germany's 'Solidaritätszuschlag'. That temporary tax imposed on all Germans back in 1990´to help the East German economy back on track.
