Greg -- Let's lighten up on Gene. After all he has made a public spectacle of himself as it is and eaten a pretty hefty helping of crow. If he were a less honorable soul he could have sold and just kept his mouth shut. Meanwhile, I don't agree that the release was, in reality, "negative," only in perception by some. I like the look of the two new guys, both of whom are reportedly fluent in Russian and carry impressive technical credentials. Still not sure, however, whether a strong JV deal leaves us with the necessity to have development staff, unless AIP plans to develop its remaining holdings itself. Also, I read the portion of the release that refers to negotiations with "numerous" potential partners as a sign that the talks have widened. Faris reports a new rumor (yes, I trust Faris) that a major, I suspect Amoco, got "outbid" by other potential partners. If true, that's the best development yet. The release contained the standard language warning that there are no guarantees that an agreement will be concluded. Too bad some folks got juked by the Wooddy news, but that's their problem. -- Regards
