When oil went to 147, Ben actually was not printing at all,
but he sure dropped the rates fast. Thus, funds borrowed for
nothing and jumped on commodities, which produced a huge spiked
We have way too much speculation (derivatives and what not)
driven by cheap debt.

Overall, the country is in a mess for 10 years already. The
Japanese show we can remain in a mess for quite a while
longer, and the imbalances were accumulated rather than
corrected, but it will end at some point, unless they really
blow it. Even in that case it will end at some point. -g-
