Are we heading to 4$ tomorrow? or 30$ down the line? I personally think that next week we have as much chance to be below 3$ than at 4$ because I personally do not understand the results described in the abstract. I understand that the AC group (EECP treated) walked 40 seconds more than they did at the beginning of the study. So did the "inactive group". I also understand that the treatment group had less anginal episodes and used less nitroglycerin pills. But what surprises me is that it is nowhere described how the groups compared to each other. In other words: was the actively treated group (EECP treated) a little bit better, moderately better or a lot better than the "inactive" group? I thought the study was designed to know that... and cannot find the answer by reading the abstract (tough to be dumb!). What they compared are patients whithin the same group and I was expecting a significant, quantifiable, difference between the 2 groups. Maybe I do not understand anything here. I see that they conclude positively. I hope that things will clearer at the American Heart Association meeting and that their data is more solid. Regarding the rise of the stock price, this is, in my view, irrational exuberance because most of us do not understand that abstract (correct me if I am wrong here). I would suggest great caution here in investing at this point, unless you are totally clear about those results. Remember also that in March 1996, November 1996 and March 1997, the peak price for VASO was the highest just before these 3 meetings and not during or after the meeting. Please note that I am a supporter of EECP because I am sure that it has a place in the treatment of patients refractory to medical or other therapies (I happen to understand the device and the hemodynamic changes brought about by the treatment in great details as I read tons about this topic 1.5 years ago). But from this abstract and the way it is written, I personnally suspect that we might be below 3$ in 2 weeks. 30$ share price? with a possibility of 80,000,000 shares on the market... mmmmh... 2.4 billion capitalization--- I don't think so...Just IMHO. Of course I agree with the analysis that today was a great day for the share price with a buy signal on the MACD and a switch from distribution to accumulation of the stock. Let'sd see if that continues. Of course everything can change if they get TV coverage during the AHA meeting. Let's wait and see. Good luck all. Gaston
PS: I used to be invested in VASO a year ago. Have been out and missed the rise from 1.5 (darn!) but do not plan to catch this equity on the rise, during this very volatile time... |
