In communist Eastern Europe there were no separate drinking fountains, colleges accepted women and there were “No Irish allowed” signs - all the masses were equal that is equally poor while the elites lived up. Equality might sound like a great slogan same as one man one vote, the only problem with this idea is that it assumes that each individual thinks for themselves which is absolutely false. Groups who have the ability to influence masses have their vote and thus full control over them.
Now ask yourself how many stable black households you had in 50s and how many you have now? What has changed? It has nothing to do with drinking fountains. The policies of dependency crippled minority communities for generation.
