Steve - high speed rail that no one wants to ride is an "evil spawn" of the devil. It is just another black hole for subsidies. Get consistent man! High speed rail between Tokyo and Kobe, high speed rail between Washington and New York - is not the same as high speed (actually low speed) between Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati. Population density defines the applicability of high speed rail - not political payoffs!
