How to put the unemployed back to work? Now that is a real challenging question. Over the coming months we will be faced with a number of very serious questions.

1. How do we bailout the bankrupt states? What Greece like restructuring should we force on them?

2. How do we end trillion dollar deficits as far as the eye can see before the bond market forces Greece like restructuring on us?

3. How do we reduce unemployment?

4. How do we - or do we ever - control our borders?

The questions and policy implications are huge.

Obama wants to take the government to 25% of GDP from roughly the historic place of 20%. Can anyone - anyone - anyone - imagine economic growth to employ the unemployed with the required tax increases?

The goals of Team Obama are extremely contradictory. Think about it - Cap and Trade - but economic growth - say what? Double exports - but restrict free trade - say what? Bash the fat cats - but want job growth - say what? Obama has to chose which of support groups wins - for instance - the radical greens or the workers. I suspect the radical greens as they represent the wacko wing of the party which is the core support group.

Hey Team Barack - you are your worst enemy - it won't work!

If it were me the first thing I would do is reduce Washington employment by 10% per year over 5 years. I would also cut the military substantially - yankee come home! The burden of government is killing us.

As for job growth - the fools in Washington are missing the potential of natural gas as an economic game changer. Natural gas could be to Obama as the internet was to Clinton. Sadly, natural gas is CH4 and Team Obama absolutely hates the C in CH4. National ruin is preferable to any use of C.
