well you and i agree on one point.... we are producing a generation of 'dead enders' but it isn't for any lack of SPENDING you can spend stupid or you can spend smart we can create a tsunami of 'college educated' morons with no marketable degree for WHAT purpose? the problem is that we have 'cheapened' higher education in that we make it a requirement for the most basic of jobs (think sales) my niece has her doctorate in mechanical engineering...she is well employed....today's science doctorate equals yesterday's bachelor of science??? yeah, probably
