Nope, he paid cash and negotiated over what he'd be charged. Actually my Mom paid off the final bills from his estate after he'd died.

I see...so they don't get "free" care as you implied in your response to our canadian friend gg ( they go to ER's and get free treatment. As I mentioned, my own cousin got cancer care w/o insurance. ) nor is it free anyway, since if he didn't pay the bill we would have indirectly, neither did really pay all the bills, since your mom paid what he left unpaid from his estate, which apparently had the money to pay the final bills but did not somehow. Tripping yourself up here brumey.
