Medical societies and speciality boards etc. could take over credentialing and do a fine job. Not any worse than the states. My line about the "strict libertarian" approach was related more to "unorthodox" practitioners. It's not a simple job for docs to evaluate other docs, who went through a basically the same or similar training process. There is no way the public can do it.

....But then, it's Ok if the public has a chance to make up their minds if they want to be treated by a homeopath rather than an internist. Alt healthcare people are widely practicing, and most if not all states are already forcing insurers to pay for the treatments. Maybe it's the same like with socialism -- from time to time, it seems, people feel compelled to re-experience and to re-learn.... :)
