No, certainly not directly. Hospitals don't submit their bad debts to the government to pay. You can argue they jack up rates to cover bad debts. Its theoretical in this case as his bills were paid.

He paid for all his care, he just wasn't alive to sign the final check(s). Get it? The estate DID pay the final bills.

The reason I mention him is he's a prime example of someone without health insurance and not qualifying for an existing government program who nevertheless didn't go w/o health care as you guys imagine happens.
