My Am Ex is a Costco card, which doesn't have an annual fee - but Costco does have a membership fee of $37. I get a check from them once a year that represents a percentage of the usage. I do most of my shopping at Costco, including buying gas there. I also use Am Ex for most everything else. It adds up - got a check for $400 a couple of weeks ago. The Visa has a 12% charge on any unpaid balance, but I don't pay any attention to that because I don't carry a balance.
