The proposed health care reform would end discrimination based on pre-existing conditions, and therefore end the threat of rescission as well.

I just don't get how this is going to work. If you force insurance carriers to take on people with preexisting conditions - they will have every incentive and I would argue every right to raise everyone's premium. You can't force them to lose money. So the end result for all of us will be to make insurance even more unaffordable. Count me as among those very worried about "unintended consequences" of the bill.
