Agree with, and recommend your post, John, with the exception of this: "i can't stand watching beck"
If I never watched people I didn't like, I wouldn't know what they were really saying. (I didn't like Rosie O'Donnell either, but had to know why myself - when I turned her on, she never disappointed me...she was always awful!)
I have grown to appreciate Beck more than I had before. He at least teaches people some history. He means well. He hasn't said anything that wasn't true, at least that I can recall. He is theatrical. He's been on the bottom, and doesn't want to be there again. He genuinely cares for our country, and it shows. He is repelled, repulsed and frightened as the rest of us are, to see what is happening from Washington DC and about to be inflicted on the US citizens. He isn't Obermann. He isn't Chris Mathews. He isn't Huff and Puff, nor Moveon, either.
I agree with you that the WaPo article was trying to tear Beck down, by pretending to see a tempest in the Fox teapot. If Beck is so bad, his ratings will fall, and he will be "out of there".... In the meantime, he is trying to wake people up to the potential disaster he sees coming.
I think LB is right. After Murdock dies, his kids will take Fox to the Left. Their ratings will fall, just as have the current Alphabet Soup media....
Then who will be able to provide a company where at least both political sides can be fairly treated??? |
