Still the earliest age is still 63 and only to enable younger workers to take the position. But the retirement age is still over 65 years old to my understanding. The concept is to lower unemployment within the younger workforce

I tried to read the law (PDF page) but as usual with laws it is quite complicated for the incidental reader


Für Jahrgänge bis 1951 (einschließlich) gibt es weiterhin die „Altersrente wegen Arbeitslosigkeit“ oder Altersteilzeit. Der früheste Bezug einer Sozialversicherungsrente ist damit möglich:

für den Jahrgang 1945 im Alter 60
für die Jahrgänge 1946 bis 1948 monatsweise ansteigend im Alter 60, 61, 62 oder 63
für die Jahrgänge 1949 bis 1951 im Alter 63.
Eine abschlagsfreie Rente ist in all diesen Fällen erst ab Alter 65 möglich.
