The thing I liked about Krugman's treatment of this case is that it was less about this particular company and more about the structure which not only permits such but, and here is Krugman's point, jet propels the incentives to do it and more. It's the structural incentives that matter. How do health insurance companies make money? By denying payment to folk they insure.
