The latest poll by the non-partisan Kaiser Family Foundation found 46 percent of Americans support the healthcare bill and 42 percent oppose it.

This is what is wrong with people who believe in pure democracy. They think that the majority automatically wins. This is exactly why this country was founded as a constitutional republic. So that laws and policies, like the healthcare bill, that violate the rights of the individuals could not be passed. If 90% of the people supported government mandated and sponsored healthcare it would still be wrong.

The United States of America was founded on protecting the rights of individuals. It wasn't founded on the idea of providing for the needs of some people at the cost of the others.

This is a sad time for this country.

Hopefully the Supreme Court will fix what Congress and the President is breaking.
