I remember the last flight I was on where there was smoking. It was a Swissair flight from London to Lousanne. Even in the non-smoking section you could smell the reek of the cigarettes. US flights had already banned smoking by then, but Europe was still allowing it. Euro carriers may still allow it, I'll never know. I have always flown US carriers since then.

Leg room is another thing that was a little bit more abundant 20 years ago.
