I wouldn't count on it. I've said this before on other threads, but one thing Americans love is success. Winning the vote will remind everyone that against all odds, Obama is a winner. Also, Americans have a very short memory. If you need proof of that, I'll point you to all the anger you guys feel over the "process" Dems have used, all the while you have been forgetting that the GOP used the same egregious processes when they were in charge. Humans in general tend to remember the good and forget the bad. In a few months after this bill is passed, most people will just remember that Obama won...again.
I have a simple prediction. This bill will pass. The Dems will be super energized and they'll forget about the things they didn't like about process and the things they don't like in the bill. The nation will turn to other priorities and the Dems will have momentum going into those. In the mean time, the economy is looking better every day. Come November the recovery will be in full swing with a steady monthly increasing employment and a stock market that continues to go up, while house prices continue to rise.
In November, Americans will be feeling good about things again. Then Obama, and in his coat tails Dems in general, will have risen substantially in the polls. Then when the final vote is assessed in Nov, maybe the Dems lose a few Senate seats and a few House seats, but they will still have majorities in both houses.
That's a scenario that I'm sure all of the GOP members on this thread will immediately scoff at, but when November rolls around, I'm going to remind this thread that I posted this prediction. |
